When you browse the web and you’re typing in the keywords you’re trying to target and rank highly for, what do you want to see? What would you expect on a page when you type in a keyword? Perhaps you’re ranking towards the top of the search engines for “how to make money online with free paid surveys”. Now, if you were to type that exact keyword in, what would you expect to see or what would you want to see when you type it in? Try to put yourself in their shoes and think like they do.

People aren’t coming online to spend money or to just hand you their money but they’re looking for solutions or for answers. When people or potential customers’ type things in, they’re not looking to line your money up with pockets and this is how you should think. Imagine yourself in the shoes of your potential customers or visitors and think about the information they would want to see if you were them.

Design Matters

When you’re thinking about the different designs you can incorporate into your landing page, designs actually do matter. There have been several studies done and several charts devoted to the psychology of colors and the effects on people due to different designs. The color of your design actually does physiologically affect someone and how they think. Will this make a huge killing or increase on your conversions? It might not or it might, it all depends on different factors.

Green – This has been proven and known to make people spend more money. It’s not entirely known why but it’s believed that people associate this color with money so they end up spending more. It’s just like lingerie ads. They see those people on TV and they sub-consciously think that by buying those products they will look like or become them.

Blue – This color is known to put people at ease and to make people feel relaxed on a site.  This is often one of the best colors to use for marketing purposes.

Red – This is known to make people feel alert and feel cautioned. This is a color that’s not used too often on landing pages for this reason.

Number 1 – Give people what they want but don’t give them exactly what they want. It’s almost like a tease if you will. Give people some of the information they’re looking for, for free but don’t give it all to them at once.

Number 2 – Pick a design and theme that’s easy going and easy to navigate.  If your copy is long ensure you have multiple points for people to contact you on the page.

Number 3 – People love videos or testimonials. Having a video on your page explaining what the page or product is about will increase your conversion rate.  Even better the highest converting pages have video testimonies from clients.  This adds lots of credibility to your landing page and shows you have real customers that believe in you.

At any rate, people like to see that you’re an authority on the subject you’re talking about so include plenty of testimonials and images to back up your claims.  There are many best practices for landing pages but not one single right way.  Testing different versions of your landing page is the best way to find which converts best.

I vote for the first tip: Think like your customers. If you know what your customer like and want, then your are not far to be together with cusomters. And Webpage design matters, too. Some factors should not be neglected, including, the color, downloading speed, page navigation, etc. The landing page must looks tidy and clean. If it’s me, I would like to say yes to pages with better experience.
